Remembering Allen Schwait

Azrael Franz was saddened to learn of the death of our former partner and colleague, Allen L. Schwait.  Allen was a partner of the firm from 1993 to 1997.  He began practicing law in 1969 at the law firm of Garbis & Schwait where he practiced general and tax litigation, until becoming a partner at Azrael, Gann & Franz in 1993.  Allen left the firm in 1997 to be sworn in as a judge on the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, reaching his mandatory retirement at the age 70 in 2007.

“Allen Schwait was a consummate lawyer.  But more than that, Allen was a mainstay of our firm.  He provided wise counsel and leadership to all our attorneys.   He was a great friend to my wife, Myra and me, and officiated at our wedding.  All of us here will remember Allen with respect and gratitude.  We send our sincere condolences to his wife, Julie and their family.” – Jonathan Azrael

The firm extends our deepest sympathies to the Schwait family.  Plans for a memorial service to be held this summer are incomplete.  For more detailed information, please visit: https://www.baltimoresun.com/obituaries/bs-md-ob-allen-schwait-20210603-jbooj4ifljdwjlhz2usii3sabm-story.html
