One Injured Following CSX Train, Tractor-Trailer Collision in Frederick County

Just before 9:30 a.m. Friday morning, a CSX train traveling to Louisville, Kentucky collided with a tractor trailer at a rail yard in Point of Rocks, Maryland, fifteen miles southwest of Frederick, Maryland.

The truck driver sustained a non-life-threatening shoulder injury and was taken to a Frederick County hospital. There are no reported injuries to the crew of the train, and the 81-car train, which was carrying batteries, was not derailed by the incident. According to Kevin Fox, a spokesman for the Frederick County Fire Department, there were no hazardous conditions created by the incident, and the cause of the crash is still under investigation.
