Fatal House Fire in Whiteford, Maryland

Deputy State Fire Marshals are conducting an origin investigation of an early morning mobile home fire that occurred in Whiteford, MD where one person has been pronounced deceased at the scene. Scott and Mary Jones reportedly own the property.

A 911 call was received at approximately 1:53 a.m. from an occupant who discovered the fire. Firefighters from Whiteford Volunteer Fire company were assisted by Firefighters from Harford County and Pennsylvania to combat the two-alarm fire. It took 50 fire personnel approximately one hour to extinguish the blaze. Once the fire was extinguished, an adult victim was located inside the still-smoldering structure, deceased. Another occupant was transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical center with non-life threatening burn injuries.
