Comair Flight 5191: Fatal Runway Crash in Lexington, Kentucky
The investigation into the crash of a Delta Connection regional jet being operated as Comair Flight 5191 during takeoff at Blue Grass Airport in Lexington, Kentucky on Sunday, August 27, 2006 will focus on the contributing factors that caused the pilot to take the wrong route on the taxiway and takeoff from the wrong runway. The investigation lead by the National Transportation Safety Board is expected to shed important light on these facts.
“There is no reasonable excuse for a pilot taking off from the wrong runway” explains Keith S.
